How to Point a Domain to Other Providers

You may use external services or hosting providers with the domain you purchased with iManila. Follow these actions to do this:

  1. First, make sure that the setup for your domain is finished. Furthermore, it is very important to make sure that your domain is verified.
  2. To correctly point your domain, gather the steps and DNS record settings required by your service provider. The details can be found in their Knowledge Base, Help Center, community forums, online tutorials, and videos that can be found using any search engine.
  3. Make sure you finish any requirements that your provider may have requested before moving further.

Get help from the customer support of your external vendor if you are unable to find the information on pointing the domain.

Once you have the DNS record values, modify them in the DNS Zone Editor for your domain. Either add a new record in Zone Editor of your cPanel account or edit the existing records.

Depending on your provider, there are many different ways to point your domain.

Updating the MX and SPF records can also be required if you retain iManila nameservers but use other email services.

Give DNS propagation up to 24 hours after making these changes in your domain’s DNS zone. There may be minor interruptions for your email and website during this transition.

Once propagation is finished, follow your provider’s instructions if there are any more steps. Please do not hesitate to contact the customer support of your external supplier for additional help if problems continue.

With these steps, your external supplier is now the domain’s host.
